CASE 07 / EUROPEAN SOCIAL IMPACT CAMPAIGN
HOW WEMINDD HELPED FOUR PAWS REACH BEYOND THE PEOPLE WHO ALREADY CARED.
Within the wider Fur Free Europe European Citizens’ Initiative, WeMindd developed a distinctive FOUR PAWS activation and multilingual conversion campaign.
The strategic shift was simple: compassion already mobilised animal-welfare supporters. Progress, common sense and curiosity could bring everyone else into the conversation.

THE CASE
A PETITION BECAME A CAMPAIGN ABOUT WHAT A MODERN EUROPE SHOULD LEAVE BEHIND.
Fur Free Europe asked the European Commission to ban fur farming and the placement of farmed fur products on the European market.
For FOUR PAWS, WeMindd translated that policy objective into an accessible digital mobilisation campaign: campaign concepts, social video, banners, online promotion and a multilingual website designed to move people from attention to signature and onward to sharing.

THE COMMUNICATION PROBLEM
THE PEOPLE MOST MOVED BY DISTRESS IMAGERY WERE ALREADY LIKELY TO SIGN.
The familiar animal-welfare formula was emotionally direct: show suffering, explain the cruelty and ask for support. It worked for an engaged audience, but it also risked being ignored by people who care about animals yet actively avoid distressing campaign content.
To reach the European threshold at speed, the campaign needed a wider psychological entry point without weakening the moral issue.

THE PRINCIPLE
“IF PITY MOBILISES THE CONVERTED, PROGRESS CAN MOBILISE EVERYONE ELSE.”
The campaign did not remove animal suffering from the argument.
It changed the order in which people encountered it.

CURIOSITY BEFORE THE ASK
THE SOCIAL CONTENT DID NOT BEGIN WITH A CAGE. IT BEGAN WITH A QUESTION.
Short-form videos opened with unexpected questions: How many people live in Belgium? How long do foxes on fur farms live? What share of global fur production takes place in the EU?
A timer created anticipation. A numerical reveal made the scale understandable. Only then did the campaign connect the fact to the animals and present the call to sign.
HOW DO YOU REACH THE PEOPLE WHO AGREE WITH YOUR CAUSE, BUT DO NOT YET ACT?
WeMindd develops social-impact campaigns that connect strategy, creative communication, digital experience and operational execution around one measurable behaviour.
